LAS VEGAS - WellHealth, a DaVita Medical Group announced the hiring of Kasey Mayclin, MD and the return of Chirisse Taylor, MD, MPH to WellHealth Women's Specialty Care division, furthering its mission to provide women exceptional care in the Las Vegas Valley.

Dr. Kasey Mayclin was born and raised in rural South Dakota. She joined the Army National Guard in January of 2000 and completed training as a mechanic prior to returning to South Dakota to attend college. The following spring, she attended Dakota Wesleyan University where she was the recipient of the Carhart Award in Science as well as the Excellence in Biology Award. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology and minors in chemistry and psychology.

Upon her acceptance into medical school in 2005, she received the Army's Health Professions Scholarship, and was commissioned as an officer into the United States Army. While pursuing her medical degree, she taught health and sexual education to high school students living in South Dakota's Native American reservations. Dr. Mayclin received her doctorate of medicine from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in 2009.

Following graduation, Dr. Mayclin completed her OB/GYN residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in 2013, and was awarded top vaginal surgeon in her class. Dr. Mayclin became a staff physician at C. R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, TX following residency. In addition to a full-scope practice as an obstetrician and gynecologist, she also served as the chief of gynecology, assistant department chief, hospital cancer liaison and gynecology surgical safety representative.

She was also appointed to a national Department of Defense consortium focused on reducing medical complications and improving patient safety. During her tenure as staff, she was an adjunct professor for the military residency programs, training the Army's future family medicine, emergency medicine and OB/GYN providers, as well as an instructor for the physician's assistant program.

Dr. Mayclin is a tireless and passionate advocate for patients. Throughout her career, she has headed initiatives to improve access to care for patients and their families, while also working on numerous quality improvement projects.

Dr. Taylor has made her way across the country from bustling New York City to sunny Las Vegas. Initially obtaining her undergraduate and master's degree at Cornell University and Yale School of Public Health respectively, she moved to Boston to attend Harvard Medical School. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and then went on to complete her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecology at Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery. Through this journey, she has dedicated herself to improving the lives of women by providing comprehensive, compassionate and evidence-based care. Her commitment extends both domestically and abroad, as she has completed medical missions in both Africa and Central America. When she is not traveling on a jet plane, Dr. Taylor can still be found hitting the road. She is an avid runner and has completed three full marathons. Dr. Taylor is board certified OB/GYN and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG).
