Through the Teachers Health Trust Performance Health Plan, members now have the ability to access medical and behavioral health providers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Telemedicine platform will be powered by MDLIVE. Providers will be able to diagnose and treat conditions such as the cold and flu, fevers, strep throat, conjunctivitis (pink-eye), sinus infections, rashes and more. In addition teachers will have access to counselors and therapists to talk through every day stressors when the need arises.

Teachers also have the option to see a behavioral health professional to help them with their mental health needs.

Can a dependent under the age of 18 use Telemedicine?

Yes. MDLIVE has pediatricians on call 24/7/365. Please note, a parent or guardian must be present during any interactions involving minors. We ask parents to establish a child record under their account. Parents must be present on each call for children 18 or younger

Once I am registered, do I need to create a separate account for my dependents?

Yes, each dependent needs to have a unique username for billing purposes. However, they can be registered under the same email address. Once you have registered as the primary account user, you can click on the “My Account” tab and register any dependents by verifying their information and creating their username.

How long will I wait to see a doctor?

The goal of telemedicine is to give you the ability to see a doctor within minutes. However, there could be a delay based on the amount of members trying to access care at the same time. You do have the ability to schedule an appointment with any of the doctors available, and see them when its convenient for you.

Can I see a doctor through my smartphone?

Yes. You can download the MDLIVE app, login, and start to access care. You can download through the App Store or Google Play.

Can the doctor prescribe medication?

Yes. Prior to your visit you will select your pharmacy (verify that you are selecting an in-network pharmacy) and if a medication is prescribed by your doctor you will be able to pick up the same day in most cases.
